Description
The Lord's Prayer has been a cornerstone of Christian devotion for centuries. Yet, its patriarchal and kingdom imagery can be alienating to those who don't fit traditional molds. In response, Nicola Slee offers a fresh perspective through a series of prayers and poems that explore the prayer's central images and bring personal stories into dialogue with it. Drawing on Aramaic terms of intimate address, such as Abba or Amma, these prayers aim to integrate our whole human journey into the vocation of being a follower of Jesus. With an extended introduction exploring its significance, problems, and contemporary reinterpretations, this book invites readers to reimagine their relationship with the Lord's Prayer. Through its unique blend of prayer and poetry, Abba Amma Improvisations on the Lord's Prayer offers a powerful tool for spiritual growth and reflection.
