Description

Gerald Durrell's A Zoo in My Luggage is a fascinating account of his attempt to set up his own zoo. For years, he had been collecting animals for other zoos, but it wasn't until he decided to take the plunge and start his own that things got really complicated. The journey to Cameroon was just the beginning of Durrell's adventure. He and his wife embarked on a mission to gather a diverse range of mammals, birds, and reptiles, including some remarkable creatures like Cholmondely the chimpanzee and Bug-eye the bush-baby. However, their problems only intensified when they tried to return home with their exotic menagerie. Told with wit and enthusiasm for all things wild, A Zoo in My Luggage is a gripping story of perseverance and determination.
