Description

Albert Serra's A Toast to St Martiria is an unflinching look at his formative years and early relationships that have shaped his unique perspective on cinema, art, and life. Delivered as an improvised speech at the St Martiria fiesta in Banyoles, this book conveys Serra's subversive attitude and impulsive passion for living. In it, he reflects on how these experiences have influenced his approach to filmmaking, seeking to intensify perception of time and space through cinema. This is a candid and introspective work that offers insight into the creative mind behind some of the most innovative films in recent years. With its raw honesty and unbridled enthusiasm, A Toast to St Martiria is an essential read for anyone interested in the intersection of art, film, and personal experience.
