Description
A Splinter of Ice by Ben Brown In 1987, the Cold War was beginning to thaw, and an extraordinary reunion took place between two men who had once been close friends. Graham Greene, one of the great novelists of the twentieth century, met his old MI6 boss, Kim Philby, for the first time in thirty years. As they raised their vodka glasses, Ben Brown's compelling drama asks whether Philby betrayed his friend as well as his country. The story is based on a real-life meeting between two men who had once been bound together by loyalty and trust. The author has woven a narrative that explores the complexities of their relationship and the secrets that Philby kept hidden for so long. A Splinter of Ice was filmed on stage at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham, before being released online in April 2021. This is a gripping drama that delves into the world of espionage and loyalty, raising questions about the true nature of friendship and betrayal.
