Description
A Reader in Biblical Greek by Richard A. Wright is an intermediate reader for students, clergy, and scholars who have completed at least one year of Greek instruction. This book features twenty-nine texts from the New Testament, the Septuagint, and noncanonical early Christian writings, allowing readers to build reading proficiency while gaining exposure to various genres and authors. The selections are designed to gradually increase in difficulty, with notes provided to clarify low-frequency words and syntactical intricacies. Each new section of texts builds upon previous ones, making it possible for readers to work through lessons sequentially or as standalone exercises. This resource encourages progress in both Koine reading proficiency and knowledge of Christian tradition. By reading this book, you will be exposed to a range of texts that would have been familiar to Christians in the fourth century CE, with intertextual connections between them that can stimulate discussion and reflection on the development of important ideas in the early church.
