Description
A Proof Reader's Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Nick Dunn-Meynell is a unique collection of stories that reimagines the original Sherlock Holmes adventures. Each tale takes place immediately after one of the original Canonical Adventures, but with a twist: they pull apart and reinterpret the inconsistencies and contradictions found in those stories. These conversations between Holmes and Watson are dense with material, filled with Easter Eggs for the perceptive reader. The author's subtle sense of humour and affection for the characters shine through, while references to works of art from London's National Gallery add an extra layer of depth to each story. Some tales will surprise you with their wit, while others will make you pause and consider previously overlooked contradictions. Reading these stories requires patience and attention, as they are meant to be pondered rather than rushed through. With its blend of Sherlockian insight and artistic references, A Proof Reader's Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is a thought-provoking collection that will appeal to fans of the original stories and those interested in exploring new perspectives on stories.
