Description
A People without a Past Between Three Plagues Volume 2 by Jaan Kross In 1563, Balthasar Russow's life is poised for greatness. Fresh from his studies in Stetten, he has become the pastor of Tallinn's Holy Ghost Church and is betrothed to a local maiden. However, tribulations still await him as Livonia faces foreign powers and Tallinn prepares for a prolonged Muscovite siege. As Pastor Russow navigates his new role and marriage, he will discover that life is often a battlefield. The year 1563 holds many challenges, from the siege of Tallinn to the complexities of marriage itself. Translated from Estonian by Merike Beecher, this second volume in an epic historical trilogy offers a gripping portrayal of life in medieval Estonia. This book is the second part of a trilogy that explores the complexities of life in 16th-century Livonia.
