Description

A New Brain by William Finn and James Lapine is a musical comedy about a composer who collapses into his lunch and awakens in hospital. Haunted by an unfinished song for a children's television show featuring a large green character, Gordon must come to terms with the specter of Mr. Bungee. As he navigates his medical ordeal, Gordon finds himself surrounded by loved ones, including his maritime-enthusiast lover and his mother. What initially appears to be a tumor is revealed to be something more operable, allowing Gordon to recover and focus on composing the songs that have been on his mind. The result is an energetic and engaging musical that explores themes of creativity, love, and recovery.
