Description
Carlos Castaneda burst onto the academic and cultural scene in 1968 with his books detailing his supposed apprenticeship with a Yaqui Indian sorcerer. His wife, Margaret Runyan Castaneda, now shares her own perspective on their relationship and the years leading up to their marriage in 1960. In A Magical Journey with Carlos Castaneda, Margaret Castaneda recounts the experiences she shared with her husband, exploring ideas such as controlling dreams and using hallucinogenic mushrooms. She believes that her husband was indeed a sorcerer, and she still loves him. This book offers a unique insight into the life of a man who claimed to have learned these mystical practices from his mentor. Margaret Castaneda's account provides a personal perspective on the ideas and experiences that Carlos Castaneda wrote about in his books. She argues that her role in developing these concepts should be recognised, and she shares her own story as part of this journey.
