Description
A Hero of Our Time by Mikhail Yurievich Lermontov is a novel that explores the complexities of human nature through its protagonist, Pechorin. A military officer with a troubled past, Pechorin's actions are driven by his own vices and flaws, making him a deeply flawed and relatable character. The novel was written by Lermontov in 1840, and it is considered one of the most important works of Russian literature. The story takes place against the backdrop of the Caucasus region, where Pechorin becomes embroiled in a duel that ultimately proves fatal. This edition presents a new revision of the English translation, aiming to bring Lermontov's original vision closer to its intended form. This edition is part of a new series of Romantic writing, which seeks to provide readers with a complete experience of both classic and contemporary Romantics. With 214 pages of prose, this paperback edition offers a concise and accessible introduction to Lermontov's masterpiece.
