Description
A Friend's Kitchen is a profound collection of poems by Al-Saddiq Al-Raddi, written during his time in exile. Separated from his loved ones for nearly five years, Al-Raddi found solace in writing brief, mystical texts to post on Facebook, which eventually grew into this powerful book. Translated into English by Bryar Bajalan and Shook, the poems in A Friend's Kitchen explore the spiritual incomprehensibility and physical reality of exile. The result is a deeply personal and introspective work that offers a unique perspective on the human experience. This collection is a testament to Al-Raddi's skill as a poet, and its translation into English provides readers with access to his powerful voice for the first time.
