Description
A Catechism of the Heart: A Jesuit Missioned to the Laity by Benjamin James Brenkert is a personal and powerful exploration of faith, identity, and service. In this deeply personal account, Father Brenkert shares his journey as a young man from Long Island who became a Jesuit priest despite facing challenges related to his sexuality. As he recounts his experiences, including his Open Letter to Pope Francis in 2014, Brenkert sheds light on the complexities of being a gay Catholic and the need for greater understanding and acceptance within the Church. His story is one of prayer, discernment, and a commitment to serving others with total love. This book offers a unique perspective on spirituality, ethics, and the role of faith in modern society, making it an important read for anyone interested in these topics.
