Description

Set in 1950s New York City, 69 Barrow Street is a nostalgic and introspective novel about the author's formative years.

The story begins with the author's first visit to New York with his father in 1948, but it wasn't until he moved into a mailroom job at Pines Publications on East 40th Street in 1956 that he truly immersed himself in the city. He shares an apartment with two fellow Antioch College students, Paul Grillo and Fred Anliot, and spends his time exploring the Village, writing stories, and working towards a career in publishing.

The novel is a poignant and introspective exploration of the author's early years, from his first experiences as a young writer to his struggles with identity and purpose. With its vivid portrayal of 1950s New York City, 69 Barrow Street is a captivating read for anyone interested in literary fiction or coming-of-age stories.
