Description

Henry V's Year of Glory by Ian Mortimer offers a fresh perspective on one of England's most revered monarchs. In 1415, Mortimer reconstructs the pivotal events of Henry's reign, revealing a more nuanced and complex individual than often portrayed in history. At the heart of the book is the campaign that culminated in the Battle of Agincourt, a brutal conflict designed to demonstrate God's approval of Henry's royal authority. This unflinching account sheds light on the darker aspects of Henry's rule, challenging prevailing biographical narratives and military histories. By examining this pivotal year in Henry V's reign, Mortimer provides a thought-provoking reappraisal of one of England's most celebrated monarchs.
