Description
Jan Lehner's first book, Yield, is a collection of photographs taken over a period of five to six years. These images were often captured in passing, without a defined purpose or final format in mind.
The photographs are set against the backdrop of significant personal changes and challenges, including the pandemic that swept the planet, as well as more intimate experiences such as the birth of a child, illness and loss. Despite not being explicitly stated, these themes are woven throughout the images, which often represent moments of respite during times of turbulence.
The book takes its title from the idea that surrendering to overwhelming challenges can allow for growth and renewal. It includes a poem in German by Theresa Patzschke, with an English translation, adding another layer of depth to this introspective collection of images.
