Description
Samir Karim steps off a plane from Vietnam and begins a new life in Europe. After flushing his fake passport down the toilet, he is sent to an asylum center and assigned a bed in a shared dorm. Over the next nine years, Samir navigates the complexities of Dutch bureaucracy while trying to get along with 500 new housemates. As he struggles to find his place, Samir's story offers a unique glimpse into the lives of refugees and human smugglers. Told with compassion and humor, this book is a sobering reflection of our times. With its thought-provoking portrayal of survival and resilience, Two Blankets, Three Sheets, a Towel, a Pillow, and a Pillowcase is a powerful exploration of the human experience.
