Description
This book tells the story of how a set of exercises developed over two decades helped actors overcome problems not addressed in other methods. Against a background of Apartheid South Africa, it shares humorous and moving anecdotes from the creation of these exercises.
These exercises teach key skills such as being 'in the moment', accessing the imagination, integrating emotions, and overcoming difficulties with learning lines. They offer a practical guide to the craft of acting, packed with insightful stories and humorous observations.
Written by Brian Astbury, founder of South Africa's legendary Space Theatre, this book is an idiosyncratic and challenging look at the art of acting.
