Description
Transformations showcases the unique mixed media paintings by Alex Gross, where vintage cabinet card photographs are transformed into pop culture characters through painting with acrylic and oil paints.
Each image is presented alongside its original photograph, before it was altered, to reveal the transformation process. This detailed approach adds a fascinating layer of insight into Gross's creative process.
This collection highlights Gross's decade-long body of work, featuring a diverse range of characters from popular culture, including superheroes, musicians, science fiction and fantasy figures, and movie monsters.
