Description

Simon Brann Thorpe's photography project Toy Soldiers explores the conflict in Western Sahara through a unique blend of document, landscape and concept-based images.

By using real soldiers posed as toy soldiers, Thorpe reveals the current situation in Western Sahara, a nation trapped in an historic cycle of colonial conflict, displacement and non-resolution. This thought-provoking work examines the impact and potential consequences of the stalemate.

This book is a powerful examination of a complex and often overlooked conflict, presented through a striking and thought-provoking visual language.
