Description
Touching Encounters: Sex, Work, and Male-for-Male Internet Escorting by Kevin Walby explores how masculinity and sexuality shape male commercial sex in the era of internet communications. This book is based on a qualitative investigation into the practices involved in male-with-male-or m4m-Internet escorting, aiming to reconcile the extremes of this pursuit - from quick cash transactions to friendships and mutuality. Drawing on the work of Michel Foucault, Walby examines the power dynamics at play in these physical and commercial relations between men. By shedding light on the sociology of work and queer theory, Touching Encounters provides a critical engagement with the social sciences, retying this sexual practice back to society as a whole.
