Description
The Seductive Computer: Why IT Systems Always Fail Derek Partridge explores the underlying causes of the IT-system crisis, revealing how programming technology itself is to blame for its limitations and failures. This book delves into the fundamental nature of programming, explaining why it can never deliver perfection but only emergent chaos. IT systems are a complex and rapidly evolving reality that defies human understanding. The Seductive Computer sheds light on this novelty, discussing the issues stemming from the technology itself, including development, maintenance, and user expectations. By understanding these challenges, Partridge offers a way forward, highlighting novel paradigms such as neural computing and precise approximation computing. By acknowledging the limitations of IT systems and setting realistic expectations, The Seductive Computer provides a valuable insight into the world of programming and information technology.
