Description
The Ferguson Rifle is a novel by Louis L'Amour, part of Bantam's Lost Treasures program. A treasure with gold once belonging to Montezuma was recovered by two army officers and buried before one of them died at the hands of Plains Indians.
A group of trappers, including Ronan Chantry, search for the lost treasure, but they are not alone. Rafen Falvey, the girl's uncle, also seeks it, driven by his own determination and education. The pursuit of gold can lead even friends to kill each other.
This novel is one of Louis L'Amour's never-before-seen works, released as part of a project to publish some of his unconventional manuscripts from family archives. It is the first in the Lost Treasures series, followed by Volume 2, which completes Beau L'Amour's unfinished work on No Traveller Returns.
