Description
Claire Crowther's second collection of poems, 'The Clockwork Gift', explores the place of older women in contemporary culture. Building on the lyrical and reflective voice established in her previous work, 'The Clockwork Gift' examines the complexities of memory and its role in shaping human relationships. Crowther's skillful use of rhetoric and myth-making creates striking new figures, including the yellow-furred thike and its human counterpart. Through these poems, she reveals a fragile yet resilient landscape of looking back, where memories are both treasured and vulnerable. This collection is a thought-provoking exploration of the human experience, one that will resonate with readers who appreciate lyrical and reflective poetry.
