Description
A tense and thought-provoking drama that explores the complexities of fair play. Kate Attwell's play delves into the world of cricket, where past and present collide in a game of integrity and power. The story takes two different approaches to the sport - one set in the present day, during the Women's Cricket World Cup, and another in 18th century Calcutta. As tensions rise on the field, ambitions are laid bare, and a new tactical game begins. This provocative play challenges the mythology of fair play, raising questions about power and integrity. First performed in 2019 at American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, it received its British premiere in 2024, produced by the Orange Tree Theatre, ETT and Octagon Theatre, Bolton, and directed by Diane Page.
