Description
David Mulkerin returns to his family farm in western NSW after giving up teaching in Sydney. Haunted by personal demons and family tragedy, he struggles to keep the farm afloat amidst drought and debt. When he meets Martin James, the new local doctor, their connection is rooted in shared pain and understanding. As they form a bond, David's guarded nature slowly gives way to trust. However, when Martin reveals his own identity as gay, David feels betrayed, forcing him to confront the complexities of love and acceptance. This poignant story explores the intricacies of human relationships and the power of vulnerability. Alicia Thompson's thoughtful exploration of love, loss, and identity makes for a compelling read.
