Description

Marvin Thompson's collection "Road Trip" is a thought-provoking exploration of identity and heritage. By drawing on his own experiences as a poet of Jamaican descent, born in South London but now living in South Wales, Thompson offers fresh perspectives on the complexities of race and empire.

The book delves into the underbelly of these issues, uncovering and inventing stories about his father's time in the British army. With an accomplished craft that blends traditional and contemporary forms, Thompson reveals new insights into the intersections of place, time, and memory.
