Description

Ponti by Sharlene Teo is a poignant and intense novel about the complexities of female relationships and the power of memories to shape our lives.

The story begins with an unlikely friendship between two young women, Szu and Circe, in 2003 Singapore. Their bond is forged in the heat of their summer, but it also brings them closer to a woman who has been absent from their lives: Amisa, a beautiful and enigmatic figure whose past continues to haunt her.

Seventeen years later, Circe finds herself struggling to come to terms with her own memories and guilt. When she's approached about remaking the cult 1970s horror film series Ponti at work, she's forced to confront the past and the friendship that has been a constant in her life.
