Description

Over the Rainbow: Queer Children's and Young Adult Literature is a groundbreaking collection of essays that explores the representation of LGBTQ issues in children's literature. Until now, no comprehensive volume has been dedicated to this subject, making this publication an essential resource for scholars and students alike. Edited by Michelle Ann Abate and Kenneth Kidd, Over the Rainbow brings together significant essays on LGBTQ children's and young adult literature, including works by notable authors such as Harriet the Spy and the Harry Potter series. The collection provides a provisional history of both the literature and the scholarship, examining the field's origins, current status, and possible future orientations. This book is a valuable resource for those studying children's studies, gender/queer studies, English, history, sociology, education, and related disciplines.
