Description
Dom Prosper Gueranger's monumental work on the Immaculate Conception was first published four years before the Solemn Definition in 1854. This English translation, a collaboration between St Cecilia's Abbey and St Michael's Abbey, marks significant anniversaries - the 150th of the dogma's proclamation and the bi-centenary of Dom Gueranger's birth. The work reflects Gueranger's lifelong enthusiasm for the subject, which began during his seminary days. This first English translation offers a unique insight into the author's conviction on the Immaculate Conception. Published to commemorate these milestones, this book provides an opportunity to engage with Gueranger's thoughts on this pivotal aspect of Catholic theology.
