Description
B-17 "Flying Fortress" Combat Diary is a personal account of Andy Anzanos' 26 missions with the 390th Bomb Group, Eighth Air Force. During his time in combat, he was credited with destroying an ME-110 and damaging another, but also experienced engine failures and a massive rocket attack.
Tragedy struck when all his room mates were lost in a crash, followed by Anzanos' own experience of being shot down by friendly fire. After completing his missions, Anzanos was involved in other training experiences before returning to the United States.
In addition to his combat diary, Anzanos has also designed and built the 390th Memorial Museum in Tucson, Arizona, a tribute to his bomb group.
