Description
Jason Chase was a private-eye by accident. When Phyllis Kirk, an interviewer for the Kinkaid Morals Report, was found beaten to death, he became entangled in a complex web of secrets and scandals. Phyllis had possessed intimate information about influential people, and her murder sent shockwaves through the community. Jason soon discovered that he was being pursued by a range of unsavory characters, including Wompler, a cheesecake kingpin, and Julia, a woman with a penchant for trouble. As Jason navigated this treacherous landscape, he found himself drawn to Steffy, a young woman who posed for Wompler in exchange for his favors. With the help of some unlikely allies, Jason must use his wits to unravel the mystery behind Phyllis's murder and stay one step ahead of his pursuers.
