Description
According to Jewish mystical teachings, in the beginning, there was emptiness. Then, in a swirl of motion, the world was created.
A huge jar was intended to contain a special kind of light that would finish the world. However, the light proved too powerful and shattered the jar into millions of pieces. People were created to find the sparks of light and bring them back together so that the world could be perfect.
This creation story is inspired by a 16th-century legend and is retold for young children in this beautifully illustrated book.
