Dora Fielding's life in Helensburgh is about to take an unexpected turn. Newly married and pregnant, she hopes to find a balance between family and creativity, but the realities of small town life soon challenge her expectations. In this repressed community, Dora finds herself suffocating under the weight of societal norms. It is here that she discovers another poet, Wystan H. Auden, who has taken up a teaching post at Larchfield School for boys. Like Dora, Wystan is an outsider struggling to find his place in the world. As their paths converge, these two vulnerable individuals must confront their deepest fears and find a way to connect with each other in order to create a reality of their own.
