Description

The Jacobites of Angus, 1689-1746 by David Dobson provides a comprehensive list of approximately 900 individuals who supported the Jacobite cause in Scotland during this period. These entries include soldiers, civilians, and those who lent support to the rebellion, as well as details on their occupation, rank, date of service, and unit. The book is arranged alphabetically, offering a detailed record of each individual's involvement with the Jacobites. In addition to military personnel, the list includes those who were tried and imprisoned by the Crown after the failed insurrections in 1715 and 1745. The entries also provide information on an individual's date of birth, parents' names, place of origin, and destinations following each rebellion. This detailed genealogical study offers a unique insight into the lives of those who supported the Jacobite cause in Scotland during this period.
