Description
Detailed photographs of American soldiers in WWI and occupation. This book presents 150 unpublished images of soldiers from the American Expeditionary Force (AEF) taken during World War I. Unlike formal portraits taken upon return to the USA, these photographs offer an intimate look at the AEF as they were actively engaged in combat. The images cover all ranks and specialties, from infantrymen to cooks, and include meticulous research into uniforms, equipment, locations, times, and places. The result is a unique and detailed study of life among American soldiers during this period.
