Herencia

The Lonsonier Family's Story: A Legacy of Displacement and Resilience. In 19th-century Chile, a French family from the Jura region settled in Santiago, bringing with them a legacy that would shape their lives for generations to come. The patriarch's arrival marked the beginning of a new chapter in South America, while his son Lazare's return from World War I brought a new sense of purpose. As he built a life with his wife, Theŕes̀e, and constructed a beautiful aviary, their daughter Margot's dreams of flight took shape. The family's story is one of displacement and resilience, as they navigated the challenges of war, dictatorship, and exile. Through it all, Bonnefoy weaves a powerful portrait of a family torn apart by history, yet bound together by love and determination. This poignant tale reveals the deep human complexities at the heart of the Lonsonier legacy. A powerful exploration of the human experience, Herencia is a story that will resonate with anyone who has known displacement, loss, or the struggle to find one's place in the world.
