Description
Funkhaus is a collection of poems that broadcasts unsettling songs of rebirth, love, friendship, and alienation across homes and languages. Hinemoana Baker's unique perspective brings a fresh voice to the global literary scene. Drawing on her experiences as a queer Maori writer living in Berlin, Germany, Baker weaves together big, punchy poems with shimmering delicacy, infused with her trademark humour. This book invites readers to tune out the crackle and static, and dial in their own receivers to a signal that has travelled a long way to reach them. With its distinctive blend of style and substance, Funkhaus is a powerful exploration of identity, belonging, and connection.
