Description
Fernando Marías presents a unique visual biography of Joaquín Pertierra, a mysterious Spanish illustrator born in 1919 and passed away in 1981. In collaboration with Javier Olivares, Marías explores the life and work of this enigmatic figure, delving into the events that shaped his existence. The book features a range of materials, including a comic created by Marías and Olivares, as well as illustrations, book covers, record sleeves, and posters from the 1950s to 1970s. The authors also include previously unpublished artwork, such as bocetos (sketches) and a new four-page comic strip, "Pertierra en París". This collection offers a fascinating glimpse into Pertierra's life and work, with Olivares' meticulous research and dedication on full display. Through this visual biography, Marías pays tribute to the life and legacy of Joaquín Pertierra, a figure whose story has been largely overlooked until now.
