Description

Direct Action in Montevideo tells the story of a group of anarchists who used extraordinary methods to achieve their goals. In prison, the author met many of them and was politicized by his experiences, leading him to write their story. These men were rebels who challenged the norms of a social order they considered unjust. They responded to violence with violence, using tactics such as robbing banks, planting bombs, fighting strikebreakers, aiding fugitives, and attacking or assassinating bosses and political figures. Their actions were part of a culture of solidarity and resistance in the face of oppression. This book explores their story and the context in which they lived.
