Description
Camiel Van Breedam's artistic journey began in 1956 with his first works, including reliëfs and small zinc sculptures. He later expanded to assemblages, collages, objects, sculptures, environments, and more. His art has been showcased at numerous locations around the world. Van Breedam drew inspiration from various sources, including his father's loodgietersatelier, the Rupelstreek, and local stonecutters, as well as artists such as Paul Klee, Joseph Cornell, and Chaïm Soutine. His work also reflects his engagement with social issues, serving as a unifying thread throughout his oeuvre. A recent exhibition at Zebrastraat in Gent, Belgium, showcased Van Breedam's art from 2018.
