Description
At the beginning of the twentieth century, being a woman doctor was not widely accepted. When Doctor Katharine Harvey takes over Doctor Anthony Stafford's practice in Brackenbeck, she faces resistance from the villagers who are wary of her qualifications.
The villagers seem determined to follow Jim Kendrick, owner of Brackenbeck quarry, and his views on women doctors are unwavering. However, a tragedy soon forces the people of Brackenbeck to re-evaluate their stance towards Katharine.
