Description
Berani is a powerful novel about the choices young environmental activists make and the consequences that follow. In this stirring story, three perspectives come together: Malia, who will risk everything for her activism; Ari, who knows what's right but fears the cost; and Ginger Juice, the orangutan trapped in a cage that's hurting both body and mind.
The rainforest where Ginger was born is now a palm oil plantation. The choices these young people make will have an impact on themselves, Ginger, and others. Governor General's Award finalist Michelle Kadarusman weaves their stories together to explore the complexities of courage and conviction.
