Description
Wesley prefers not to follow anything too assiduously. He thinks that to do so is a sign of weakness. Instead, he likes to live his life anonymously. However, it's not possible for him to avoid being pursued by a group of oddballs who call themselves The Behindlings. Their motivations are varied and complex: love, boredom, hatred, revenge. Wesley longs to be left alone, but it's his awful destiny to be hotly pursued by this disparate group. They secretly stalk him, obsessively hunt him - and he can't escape their attention. This is a darkly comedic novel about the consequences of being someone who doesn't want to follow anyone or anything. It's a story about the power of obsession and the difficulties of living an anonymous life.
