Description
Balisong is a play about Finlay Richards, an average 15-year-old boy who struggles to be seen. Written as part of the No Knives Better Lives Programme, this work promotes positive and active citizenship among young people. The play has been widely performed in schools across Scotland, reaching over 34,000 pupils since its recommissioning in 2017. It was nominated for several awards, including the Partnership Award at the Herald Society Awards and the Collaboration Award at the Creative Edinburgh Awards. This play is a powerful exploration of the issues faced by young people who carry knives, and how to address these problems through positive action and active citizenship.
