Description

Bad Idea by Robert Sheppard is a collection of poems that pay homage to Michael Drayton's 1619 sonnet sequence, Idea. In this contemporary take, Sheppard skillfully transposes the original themes into modern forms. The book also explores the story of Brexit, weaving it through the fabric of daily life and the complexities of British politics. Expect a humorous and satirical look at the events that have shaped the country in recent years. Sheppard's writing is known for its sharp wit, quirky style, and irreverent tone, making Bad Idea a compelling read for those interested in contemporary poetry.
