Description
Against Technology: From the Luddites to Neo-Luddism explores the enduring idea of resisting technology. This book delves into the history of the Luddites, a group of British textile workers who smashed machinery in protest, and how their actions became synonymous with an anti-technology philosophy.
The author examines how the image and myth of the Luddites were transformed over time, evolving into modern neo-Luddism. This book is not a history of the Luddites, but rather a study of representations and the power of myth-making.
